Lead Management In Salesforce

 


Salesforce Lead Management:

Lead : 

lead in salesforce is someone who has shared their contact info with  organization  but has not gone through the lead qualification process .

you can find standard fields on salesforce lead record page which user need to fill to create lead record. 


 some of the fields are :

  • Email
  • First name 
  • Last name
  • Company 
  • Title
  • Lead source 
  • Lead path 
An activity log showing interactions between sales team and lead . interactions are shown  for emails , meetings , calls. user can create custom field on lead object to gather the specific information from lead.

salesforce provide various automation tools to manage the leads .

Lead Assignment rules :

Lead assignment rules are a numbered set of distribution rules that determine who is assigned each new lead. Salesforce goes through the rules in order until it finds one that matches the lead’s info, then routes the lead accordingly. You can assign leads based on company size, the product the lead is interested in, geographic sales territories, or any other info in the lead record.

Steps to configure lead assignment rule

  1.  log in to salesforce account
  2. click on setup
  3. In quick find box type lead and select assignment rule.


4. Then you need to click on new  and provide information about your rule and make sure to click active checkbox otherwise your rule will be inactive . click on save button.



5. Now you need to set the criteria for assignments . for configuring criteria you need to click on your rule and under rule entries you need to click new for setting your criteria . set criteria as per your requirement.  


6. you can assign lead to more than one user by selecting the queue in assignment rule.


7. Now you configured assignment rule and you need to check if it is working or not for that you need to create the lead record and fill values according to the rule criteria and make sure click the checkbox below record page so that assignment rule can check if record meeting the criteria or not . if you do not click the checkbox then assignment rule will not run .
